Frequently Asked Questions
What is Living Stones?
Living Stones Fellowship is a church located in Rockford, Illinois. We are a group of believers that have come together to find joy in common Bible Study and Worship. The name “Living Stones” was adapted from the reference in 1 Peter 2:4-5
As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Our desire at Living Stones is to grow together and be built up into the “spiritual house” as God intended.
Who are you guys?
Living stones is made up of our pastor, elders, and our friends. Our intention is not to “steal” members of other churches but to offer a place for those who are seeking fellowship, discipleship and worship to join with us.
What do you believe?
In our internet section “What We Believe” we have listed out some of the basic fundamentals of our faith. If you wish to discuss your belief with the pastor feel free to email jeremiah@livingstonesrockford.com or call 1-815-489-3930
What is the Bible Study setting?
We meet in various homes in Rockford and have a very casual family atmosphere. Often accompanied with snacks and drinks we meet at two locations on Wednesday nights to study God’s word together and pray. We also have “Bible Boot Camp” on Thursday nights!
What is your Worship service like?
At Living Stones we celebrate God together in worship in four distinct areas for worship. Music, Lord’s Supper, Scripture Reading and Preaching
Can anyone come?
We would love you to come and join with us in fellowship and worship as we study God’s word.
Where is the Church located?
Currently we meet for Worship in Rockford and Belvidere (call for directions 815-489-3930). We meet for worship on Saturday nights at Calvary Baptist Church, 6286 Linden Road, Rockford, IL. We have added an additional worship time on Sunday mornings at 10:30AM

We are building another Bble Study for women on Saturday morning at 10AM in the Rockford Main Branch Public Library.
Why don’t you take an offering?
We believe that God will provide for the needs of His church. We have a small box or “offering plate” that is available for you to put your offerings in. It is between yourself and God.
What is the style of preaching?
We preach Christ and Him crucified, the Gospel is presented at our service. Pastor Griffin preaches expository sermons although he does sometimes focus on more topical preaching as the Spirit leads.
Who is the Pastor?
Jeremiah Griffin is the lead pastor/elder at Living Stones Fellowship. Jeremiah graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible college and is currently working on his MDiv from The North American Reformed Seminary. We currently meet in the Griffin’s home for Bible Study. Pastor Jeremiah was licensed to preach by Emmanuel Baptist Church in Casper, Wyoming and Ordained by Maranatha Baptist Church in Poplar Grove.
What about the music?
Our music is God centered and not intended to be showy or entertaining for us. The point of our music is to give Glory to God. We take enjoyment in the expression of our Love and devotion to God through our worship. We use guitars, drums piano and other instruments in our praise.
Do you have Childcare?
Yes! We do have child care during part of the Worship service most of the time, this is for younger children to learn about scripture and worship. This care is not always provided and more often you will see children sitting with their families in church. (or sometimes even crawling at the feat of the pastor while he preaches!) We love kids and they need to learn to worship God just like we do!
Do you have a Youth Group?
Yes! We have a small group of teens that meet together regularly for both fellowship and study of God’s Word. Currently the teens are enjoying going through the FUEL video based curriculum.
Why do you have communion every service?
We do not celebrate communion at Bible Study or at fellowships but only when the Gospel is preached. In presenting the tradition of communion, we present physical testimony to the power of Christ’s death on the Cross. Communion is extremly important to Pastor Griffin and his family as it ties directly to his family traditions of Passover.
